Corridors: Chenani-Sudhmahadev-Kishtwar-Vailoo-Ashajipora-Alstop Project status: Ongoing

The Construction and Upgradation project along the Khellani - Kishtwar - Chattroo corridor is a major infrastructure advancement, extending over 20.25 km. This project involves the transformation of the existing road from Design Km 31.449 (Khellani) to Km 51.700 (Prem Nagar), featuring a 2-lane highway with paved shoulders. The development is set to significantly enhance travel efficiency, reducing travel time from 35 minutes to just 24.30 minutes—a notable decrease of 10.7 minutes. The highway, with an overall width of 11 meters, integrates both paved and earthen sections, ensuring a smoother and safer journey for commuters.

This vital project is designed to bolster regional connectivity and address critical infrastructural needs. By reducing accident-prone areas and providing an alternate route to the Kashmir Valley, the upgraded highway will improve accessibility to local villages and towns.
