National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation is a fully owned company of the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. The company promotes, surveys, establishes, designs, builds, operates, maintains and upgrades National Highways and Strategic Roads including interconnecting roads in parts of the country.
Geographical Location
One of India’s least explored and most exciting tourist destinations, Manipur offers a cache of adventure and natural wonders looking to be discovered. Located in the northeastern part of India, bordering Myanmar, it is situated in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas and serves as a strategic corridor to Southeast Asia. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru had rightfully described the state as the “Land of Jewels”.
The rich cultural heritage of the state goes back centuries and is also the birthplace of “Raas Lila”, a globally renowned classical dance created by Maharaja Bhagyachandra. The state is also the birthplace of modern Polo, locally known as “Sagol Kangjei”. It is also home to some world’s precious natural beauties and endangered animal species.
